These terms govern your use of the Balanced Financial Services website, client portal, online tools and the software connections we operate to deliver our services. Balanced Financial Services is a business name of AZI Business Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 85 157 765 985). By using the website, the portal or any tool we provide, or by authorising a software connection to us, you agree to these terms.

Our professional services are provided under a separate engagement letter. Where these terms and an engagement letter conflict, the engagement letter prevails for the services it covers.

Licence to use our website and tools

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the website, the client portal and any online tool, form or calculator we make available, for the purpose of dealing with us and managing your own affairs. You must not copy, resell, reverse engineer, scrape or otherwise exploit the website or tools, interfere with their operation, or use them for any unlawful purpose.

Portal and login accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without authority.
• We may suspend or close an account that is misused or inactive, or where the related engagement has ended.

Connected accounting software

Where you, or we on your authority, connect your accounting file (for example Xero or QuickBooks Online) to our systems:

• We access the connected file only to provide the services in your engagement, such as preparing activity statements, financial statements, income tax returns and management reports.
• Our automated connections are operated as read-only. Entries are posted to your file only by a member of our team working in the software itself, in line with your engagement.
• Data retrieved through a connection is stored on our systems and handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
• You can revoke a connection at any time from within your accounting software or by asking us, and we will disconnect on request. Revoking a connection may limit the services we can deliver.
• Your use of the accounting software itself remains subject to the software provider's own terms.

Information on this website

Content on the website is general information only. It does not take account of your objectives, financial situation or needs and is not accounting, taxation, legal, financial product or credit advice. Obtain advice specific to your circumstances before acting on anything on the website.

Artificial intelligence tools

Some of our tools and workflows use AI to extract data, review ledgers and draft documents. Output from those tools is reviewed by a qualified person before we rely on it or provide it to you. See our privacy policy for how information used with AI tools is handled.

Intellectual property

The website, tools, templates and content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

Third-party links and services

The website may link to third-party sites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the website, portal and tools available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of them, and may update these terms, at any time. The current version is always published at this address.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the website, portal, tools or software connections, other than liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. Nothing in these terms limits our obligations under your engagement letter or applicable professional standards legislation.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
